About Masjid Annur Waqf

Masjid Annur Waqf is a non-profit 509(a)(3) supporting organization registered with the California Secretary of State (Entity no. 6503044  and EIN no. 33-4783440). The organization is a public charity in-and-of itself. The Waqf is separate legal entity from Masjid Annur but its sole purpose is to support Masjid Annur Islamic Center (MAIC), Sacramento, CA.

The assets in this Waqf are held in trust. Any all all income generated from a waqf asset will be used to support MAIC.

What is Waqf

"Waqf" is an Islamic financial term for an endowment set up for a Islamic religious, educational, or charitable cause. A waqf is a deeply rooted Islamic law and tradition for perpetual charity (sadaqah jariyah). The waqf involves donating a building, plot of land or other assets for the charitable cause with no intention of reclaiming the assets.
